The short version: no accounts, no cookies, no ads. Lookup results are cached for up to 15 minutes, and what you look up appears in Cloudflare's request logs for up to 7 days.

What happens to what you type
When you check an ABN, ACN or name, the site sends it to the Australian Business Register's web services to get the public record, and shows you the answer. A number that fails its checksum is caught first and never sent to the register. The result, not who asked for it, is kept for up to 15 minutes so the same lookup is quick next time.
The checksum shown as you type runs in your browser and sends nothing.
Logs and limits
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web server, it sees your IP address with each request. It uses your IP address to limit lookups to 30 a minute, which keeps the free ABR service fair; people who share an IP address share that limit. Cloudflare's Workers Logs also keep each request, its URL and its headers (which include your IP address) for up to 7 days, for security and fault-finding. A number or name you look up is part of the URL, so it is in those logs for that time. The site's operator and Cloudflare can see them. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
Cookies, analytics and ads
No cookies are set. There are no ads. If the site later adds privacy-friendly, cookie-free visit counting, this page will say so first.
